birthday party and tornado warnings

We started off the day with a birthday party for one of Tyler's friends and ended the day with a tornado warning. Awesome...all the way around!

Since Lauren is on her last day of spring break she got to go to Casey's party with Tyler. She's a little bit grumpy today since she hasn't had a nap in 3 days.

Tyler's favorite part of any party: CAKE!
Back home after the party Tyler (and I) went down for a nap while Lauren went over to Lea's house for their Friday afternoon playdate.
For dinner tonight I made Chicken Burritos. I topped mine with lite sour cream and salsa. These were pretty good. Even the kids ate a whole burrito themselves. Usually they will unroll their burrito and just eat the tortilla. Tonight they ate the whole thing; chicken, black beans, corn, onion and all the yummy fillings. They received imaginary Big Blue Ribbons for their super eating skills tonight. (The imaginary big blue ribbon is highly coveted in our house.)

After dinner the thunderstorms rolled on in. The weather radio alarmed twice. First for the Severe Thunderstorm Warning and then for the Tornado Warning. The kids and I packed up and headed to the basement to watch Open Season 2. Crazy Matt went out in the rain & hail with the video camera to get some cool Thunderstorm/potential Tornado shots. I'll try and upload the footage one of these days.

Tomorrow's forecast is for a beautiful warm and sunny day.
