pizza and parties

Pizza for Lunch and Pizza for Dinner. Both meals followed with a Birthday Cake Dessert.

Before I say more check out Lauren's school outfit from Friday. She wore her scarf up until she got on the bus but the mismatched socks she wore all day. She likes them and I choose to pick my battles...making sure the socks match is not one of them. She came home saying her friends liked them too so I guess the peer pressure and the desire to be the same as all your friends doesn't quite apply yet in Kindergarten. (thank goodness!)

Back to today. Today was party day. Tyler and Lauren were both invited to separate birthday parties. Lauren's at Jumping Jelly Beans and Tyler's at Chuck E. Cheese. Lucky for them (but unlucky for Matt) Matt woke up with a bad stomach bug and was in no shape or form to look after the non-invited child. So they each got to tag-a-long to the other's party. Poor form for me to bring an extra guest without calling first? I felt bad but it really was last minute and luckily it didn't seem to cause any problems.

the Jumping Jelly Beans party
Tyler was a bit slow to warm up since Lauren was immediately off and playing with her friends. Tyler finally found his groove and both kiddos had a great time. Lauren and a little girl friend spent quite some time chasing a boy!! So cute!
Here is a picture of the party-goers who are all in Lauren's Kindergarten class. I really enjoyed getting to know the Moms and placing names with faces. I finally found out the name of "the new girl." =) Bonus: One of the Moms I talked to graduated from the University of Oregon the year before I did. I've seen her and her Oregon front license plate driving around town and it was fun to finally get to know her better.
aren't Kindergarteners adorable?!
After a short nap back at home we were off again to Chuck E. Cheese. Below is a horrible picture I took from the party. The place was an absolute zoo and I didn't feel like snapping many photos.
Lauren and Tyler played lots of games and Lauren even went out of her comfort zone and rode the "scary roller coaster" ride. (this is a video of a roller coaster ride accompanied by a moving and vibrating seat) At this point in the day Lauren was all sugared out and kindly declined a slice of cake. Tyler not so much...he ate every last crumb.
Back home we found Matt still laying on the sofa. Poor guy, he said he lost 5 pounds today. (too much information?)
We are finishing the evening with family movie time. Here are the children watching The Jungle Book. Well, Tyler is watching and Lauren is playing her Leapster computer. Night Y'All.
