Miss Lauren's First Decade

Quick!  Take a look!
This is Lauren's last picture as a 9-year-old.
No more single digits for her.

She woke up the next day and as you would have it...she turned 10!
One Decade Old!
Happy Birthday precious girl.

I'm having a tough time with this one.
How can it only be 10 years since this preemie was born?
Let's reminisce about her 12 day stay in the NICU.
I know she is 10 but it's hard for me to accept the fact that I am 10 years older than the day I had her.
The time has gone by so fast it just doesn't seem possible.
What also doesn't seem possible is that I only have EIGHT years left to parent her as a child.
The past 10 years have flown by and I'm kind of freaking out about these next 8.

Go hug your babies.
The days are long but the years are short!
(Do/Did you feel the same Grammy, Grandma, MeMa & GG?)

But enough about me and my sentimentalities.

This day is about about Lauren and her 10th Birthday and it's time to celebrate.

The Birthday Girl got to choose what she wanted for dinner.
Oven baked chicken legs, asparagus, homemade rolls and strawberries.
What my girl wants, she gets.

The whole family was excited about Lauren's birthday dinner.

After dinner (and showers & PJs) we sang Happy Birthday, enjoyed an ice-cream cake and then OPENED PRESENTS!

A 1000 Piece Puzzle!

A Boogie Board from her Aunt and Uncle.
Lauren wrote a thank-you note on it.  =)

Tyler took an interest in the Boogie Board and drew himself an explosion.

A Gummy Candy Maker

Lego Friends Dolphin Cruiser

Daddy's gift to his 10-year-old daughter:
A Pandora bracelet and charm!!

Since she's starting to receive some really nice jewelry I thought it was time she had a nice jewelry box to keep them in.

What you can't see from these pictures of presents are all of the birthday cards (some even with money) she received.
She is one loved 10 year old girl!

She's an appreciative, kind, SENSITIVE, smart, brave, and fun-loving girl.
I love being her Momma and I'm going to enjoy everyday I have with her to the fullest.

Happy Birthday Lauren!
Daddy and I love you so much.

PS.  More Birthday fun to come.  Her friend birthday party is coming up this Saturday.
